The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is continuing its efforts to establish a federal standard aimed at protecting workers from hazardous heat exposure. An informal public hearing on the proposed Heat Injury and Illness Prevention in Outdoor and Indoor Work Settings rule is scheduled to commence virtually on June 16, at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time, and will run through July 2. Information and instructions for viewing the hearing has been posted on the OSHA heat rulemaking webpage.

AGC of America’s Kevin Cannon, Senior Director of Safety, Health & Risk Management, is scheduled to testify on June 18, along with members from Kwest Group and Dimeo Construction, and representatives from the Construction Industry Safety Coalition (CISC).

Engagement in the rulemaking process is crucial for ensuring that any final standard effectively addresses the diverse needs and challenges of various industries, particularly those with high exposure to heat-related risks.

Contact Kevin Cannon for more information.
