Join us on June 4, 1 PM – 2 PM Eastern for the next virtual quarterly town hall. The purpose of these meetings is to communicate key safety and health issues and challenges, as well as discuss enforcement, regulatory, and outreach activities at the national and local levels.

The June 4 town hall will include updates on the following:

  • ANSI/ISEA Z89.1 standard which specifies the design, performance, and testing requirements for head protection. The current standard will be updated to provide added protection for both Type I and Type II hard hats to include chinstrap requirements, retention system effectiveness and energy absorption on the side, front, and rear.
  • Virginia Tech Helmet Rating program and research. The goal of the program is to provide unbiased helmet ratings to allow consumers to make informed purchases.
  • ANSI/ISEA 105-2024 standard for hand and arm protection classification. The updated standard introduced a new pictogram badge system, standardized testing methods, and an expanded cut resistance scale with nine (9) levels.

As many contractors look to strengthen their hand protection policies, and transition from traditional hard hats to more modern styles of head protection, this will be a great opportunity to learn what’s on the horizon.
