The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has extended the comment period until January 14, 2025 for their Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) on Heat Injury and Illness Prevention in Outdoor and Indoor Work Settings. In addition, OSHA is scheduling an informal public hearing on this proposed rule. The public hearing will begin June 16, 2025. The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) is partnering with technology provider Autodesk to distribute free, size-appropriate, personal protective equipment for women in construction. Proper-fitting safety equipment is essential for all workers. However, women in construction require gear that accounts for differences in body shape, size, and fit to be fully protected. Unfortunately, that equipment is hard to find as relatively few manufacturers produce equipment sized for most women.
