There’s still time to recognize an exceptional leader in construction execution — the deadline for the Bowen Prize for Great Builders has been extended to November 2, 2025!
The Bowen Prize for Great Builders honors exceptional individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and hands-on execution in building America’s infrastructure. Named in honor of Bob Bowen, the award celebrates those who leave a lasting mark on our nation’s infrastructure and the communities it serves.
Unlike traditional awards, the Bowen Prize focuses on the person with their boots on the ground — the individual who led construction execution from planning to final delivery. These leaders direct crews, solve complex challenges, and bring high-impact infrastructure projects to life.
Candidates exemplify fortitude, skill, and stewardship for a project’s success — embodying leadership that uplifts teams and transforms the built environment.
Eligibility and Nomination Details:
- The candidate must be the person who led the construction project to execution.
- The project must be at least 85% complete within the 2025 calendar year.
- Only the general contractor may nominate a candidate.
- The nomination must focus on one project and highlight the candidate’s critical role.
The winner will receive a $50,000 award directed toward construction education. The nominee will choose both the organization and the specific use of the funds, helping to support the future of the construction industry.
