On January 22, AGC of America, at their semi-annual Construction Safety & Health Conference, recognized three members for their decades-long contribution to the safety and health profession, the association, and its safety and health committee.

James T. Goss, Sr., Safety Consultant at HCSS, was presented with the Outstanding Service and Dedication to Safety and Health award by his son Matthew Goss, Director Environmental Health & Safety at Stark Tech.

“This year’s recipient has been a dedicated member of AGC for over 25 years, serving 20 years as a trainer, 15 years on the AGC Safety & Health Committee, and as a member of the Government Affairs Subcommittee. This award holds special significance for me and many others in this room. When I think of this individual, words like dedication, commitment, and hard work come to mind. Personally, I owe much of my career success to his knowledge, mentorship, and unwavering commitment. I know many professionals here today share this sentiment. Please join me in congratulating my father, Jim Goss.”

Mark A. Hoffman, Health and Safety Director at Rudolph Libbe Inc., was presented with the Outstanding Service and Dedication to Safety and Health award by long-time mentee and colleague Stephen M. Kinn, Senior Safety Manager at Kwest Group.

“Mark has participated in the local AGC committee in Northwest Ohio as well as the AGC of Ohio and has been a member of the AGC Safety & health committee for 30+ years in the capacity of both an attendee and chair of a subcommittee. He has worked on the Education Subcommittee, the Emerging Safety Professionals Subcommittee, participated in the Awards & Recognition Subcommittee, and is an active commentor on policy issues in the Government Affairs Subcommittee. Throughout all his efforts, Mark has always worked for the betterment of his company, the safety and health profession, and the construction industry.”

Carl W. Heinlein, Sr., Safety Consultant at American Contractors Insurance Group, was presented with the Outstanding Service and Dedication to Safety and Health award by his close friend, Bob McCall, Director of Safety, Master Builders’ Association of Western Pennsylvania, Inc.

“Carl has been one of my dearest friends for nearly 30 years. And I know many of you count him as your friend, also. Anyone who has spent time with him has become better professionally. Carl has been a Senior Safety Consultant with American Contractors Insurance Group for 23 years. But many of us know him from his time as the Safety Director for AGC of America. Over the years, he has continued to serve AGC’s Safety & Health Committee as a subject matter expert, speaker, and contributor. Among his many professional accolades, Carl has received the highest individual honors from the National Safety Council (NSC), American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) and American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA). He also served the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) as a member, VP, and Board President. He has been a member of the ANSI A10 committee for 31 years.”
