The AGC Student Chapters are more than just student organizations—they’re incubators for the next generation of construction industry leaders. Through these chapters, young professionals gain unparalleled opportunities to learn from seasoned experts, build hands-on skills, and develop the integrity and responsibility needed for a successful career in construction.
To celebrate these rising stars, AGC of America hosts the Outstanding Student Chapter Contest, recognizing chapters that exemplify the organization’s core values of Skill, Responsibility, and Integrity. This year, awards will be presented in four key categories:
- New/Emerging AGC Student Chapter Award
Highlighting innovative chapters making a big impact early on. - Community Service Award
Honoring chapters that go above and beyond in serving their communities through construction-related projects. - Construction Management Skills Award
Recognizing chapters that display outstanding proficiency in project management and execution. - Impact Award (NEW)
Celebrating chapters that have made a lasting mark on their campuses or communities through exceptional projects.
How to Qualify
Projects must be completed during the 2023/24 academic year (August 2023 – May 2024) and can be part of a course or an additional club activity, as long as student chapter members are involved. Each award has unique eligibility criteria, but chapters can apply for multiple categories. All applicants must be sponsored by a program accredited by ACCE or ABET.
The deadline to submit applications is 11:59 p.m. EST on Friday, November 15, 2024.
The Stakes: Cash Prizes and National Recognition
Winners won’t just walk away with bragging rights—they’ll also receive:
- A $2,000 cash prize
- Four complimentary registrations for AGC’s Annual Convention in Columbus, OH (April 8-10, 2024)
- An additional $1,000 travel stipend to present their winning project on the national stage
Entries will be judged by AGC’s Construction Leadership Council, with each application reviewed and ranked based on its demonstration of skill, impact, and innovation.
