The winter season has been a busy one for the Construction Leadership Council.
Following the Kansas City Region Builders holiday party in December, CLC members gathered at Society in the Crossroads Art District of Kansas City to celebrate the holidays and commemorate the year’s achievements. Attendees enjoyed a happy hour and some networking at the art-centric restaurant. Dan Baird with Mark One Electric Company, Inc. organized the happy hour event.
For their January event, McCownGordon Construction hosted CLC members to kick off the new year with some appetizers and raffle with great prizes. The Jan. 23 event was one of CLC’s best-attended events, welcoming new members and creating new connections. Brian Seger with Turner Construction organized the event.
In February, CLC volunteered at The Shop by Build Trybe, a program by Cornerstones of Care, which empowers youth with job skills, promotes independence, and supports their well-being. Attendees then adjourned to Cliff’s Taphouse for some appetizers and networking. Nik Bergstrom with J.E. Dunn Construction Company organized this volunteer opportunity.

As the winter months waned, DBIA NextGen and CLC partnered for a joint happy hour on March 5, sponsored by SQFT Studios and United Rentals. The event drew young professionals from around the A/E/C industry for drinks, networking and great conversation.
