OSHA Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health to Meet on Oct. 29 & 30

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has scheduled meetings of the Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health (ACCSH) on Tuesday, Oct. 29 and Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. EDT. In-person and virtual attendance options are available.

Three of the committee’s workgroups will meet Oct. 29 as follows:

  • Emerging Technology: 9 to 11 a.m.
  • Workzones: 12 to 2 p.m.
  • Health in Construction: 2:15 to 4:15 p.m.

On Oct. 30, the ACCSH committee’s meeting will include:

  • Remarks from Assistant Secretary for Occupational Safety and Health Douglas Parker.
  • Update from the Directorate of Construction.
  • Discussions on hearing conservation and women in construction.
  • Reports from committee workgroups.
  • Period for public comments.

Public attendance in-person is limited to 25 people.

Information for those seeking to attend online is included in Docket Number OSHA-2024-0002 at the Federal eRulemaking Portal and on the ACCSH webpage. Submit comments and requests to speak by Oct. 23 at the Federal eRulemaking Portal using the docket number. The docket number must be included on all submissions. Read the Federal Register notice for details.

Established by the Construction Safety Act, the committee advises the Secretary of Labor and Assistant Secretary for Occupational Safety and Health on related policy matters and the setting of construction standards.

AGC’s Kevin Cannon, Senior Director or Safety, Health & Risk Management currently serves as an employer representative on the committee.
