We are sharing the following #ListenUp resources for use in October as part of National Protect Your Hearing Month. The Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) created the following resources on hearing conservation in construction to raise awareness about the importance of hearing protection, including:

  • PowerPoint presentation – specifically designed for trades workers in the construction industry, with content tailored to engage employees directly. Structured to be delivered by a foreman, it focuses on the needs and perspectives of the workforce. Additionally, it can be fully customized by adding an organization’s logo and materials. This ensures that the content not only resonates with the team but also reflects an organization’s identity and values.
  • “Top 5 Things You Need to Know” – a one-page poster style document about hearing conservation in construction.
  • Toolbox Talk – designed for the trades worker to be read onsite with no other technical or resources available.
  • Media Center Features – article of interest related to hearing conservation in the construction industry that will be published shortly.
  • Live Webinar – OSHA’sNew York Region is hosting a Lunch and Learn for Hearing Conservation on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
  • Social Media Post – OSHA has rolled out several social media posts over the last week  – examples include National Protect your hearing month, Protect Your Hearing.
  • Signature block to be added to emails during the month of October promoting Protect Your Hearing Month.
    • Tagline: Participating in #ListenUp during this year’s National Protect Your Hearing Month—observed each October—learn how to protect yourself from noise-induced hearing loss while working on construction sites. Help spread the word that hearing loss in the construction industry is preventable by using #ListenUp on social media.
