The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has extended the comment period until January 14, 2025 for their Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) on Heat Injury and Illness Prevention in Outdoor and Indoor Work Settings. In addition, OSHA is scheduling an informal public hearing on this proposed rule. The public hearing will begin June 16, 2025. For more information, please see the Federal Register notice or visit the heat rulemaking webpage.

If you have not yet done so, you are encouraged to submit comments on this proposed rule. You can submit comments directly to OSHA or use AGC’s Action Center. For a refresher on everything AGC has done (to date) during the development of this proposal, click here.

Finally, don’t miss AGC’s virtual Safety & Health Town Hall on December 4, which will include a discussion on the proposed heat standard.

For more information, please contact Kevin Cannon or Nazia Shah.
