$250,000 Construction Advocacy Fund Campaign Helped Keep Vote Close

While the House of Representatives’ passage of the PRO Act was disappointing, AGC’s efforts had an impact. Following the bill’s introduction and scheduled vote, AGC launched national action alert campaigns that asked construction professionals to voice their opposition. Nearly 7,000 construction professionals took action on these alerts. Even more impressive, over 30,000 messages were sent to members of Congress and President Biden! In addition to mobilizing the membership, the association’s Construction Advocacy Fund financed a $250,000, multi-faceted digital advocacy and public relations campaign targeting constituents in 10 congressional districts represented by undecided representatives.

Our digital ads served more than 5.3 million impressions, reaching more than 250,000 unique users in the targeted districts. The campaign’s web video was viewed more than 4.6 million times. Display ads were also placed that resulted in 636,000 impressions driving clicks to the PRO Act microsite. Also driving clicks to the site were Google search ads that appeared on more than 2,000 searches involving the targeted U.S. representatives.

The PRO Act is just one example of anti-construction legislation the Fund is designed to address. AGC uses the Fund to directly advocate for federal policies ensuring that construction remains essential, enacting legislation to expand the pipeline for the construction workforce, increasing public and private investment construction investment in infrastructure and buildings, and fighting against needless regulatory burdens. Please consider making a corporate contribution to the Fund if your company supports advocacy efforts like our recent PRO Act campaign.
