The James L. Allhands Essay Competition is Now Open!

The late James L. Allhands, a founding member of AGC, established the James L. Allhands Essay contest to recognize a student essay deemed beneficial to the advancement of the construction industry.

APPLY NOW

ELIGIBILITY AND AWARD:

  • Any four- or five-year senior-level student at an ABET or ACCE-accredited university majoring in a construction-related program.
  • First-place winners receive $1,000, and their faculty sponsor receives $500. The student and the faculty sponsor are invited to the AGC Annual Convention as guests of the Foundation.

DEADLINE:

  • The Allhands Essay Competition is now open. The deadline to apply is November 15, 2025. First, second, and third place winners will be notified in February, and their awards will be presented at the AGC Annual Convention.
