As AGC has previously reported, this year’s National Defense Authorization Act for FY 2026 (NDAA), places a strong emphasis on comprehensive acquisition reform. The Senate is scheduled to vote on its version of the NDAA on Sept. 2. While not yet scheduled, we expect the House of Representatives to take up its version of the NDAA during the second week in Sept. The House Committee on Rules has set an Aug. 28 deadline for lawmakers to file NDAA amendments and is expected to meet on the defense bill during the week of Sept. 8.
Congress has passed the NDAA for 64 consecutive years and it is considered must-pass legislation. AGC takes any attempt to add harmful construction policy to it seriously. AGC will continue to advocate for contractor priorities as the House and Senate conference their versions of the NDAA.
