President Trump has signed the AGC-supported One, Big, Beautiful Bill into law on July 4, 2025 – preventing a 20% tax increase on many small and medium sized construction firms. The final text of the bill contains many of AGC’s priorities on tax, workforce, and border security. AGC has created a Pros and Cons of the One Big Beautiful Bill summary of key provisions affecting the construction industry, including:

  1. Protecting small construction companies by making the 199A/Qualified Business Income Deduction permanent to prevent a 20% tax hike;
  2. Increasing and making permanent the estate tax exemption to help family-owned construction companies; and
  3. Restoring full expensing for new and used construction equipment purchases.

Interested in more details on the tax provisions? Click here to view a chart with the tax provisions in more detail, when they kick in, and for how long. Additionally, you can join AGC’s free webinar on July 15, 2025, The Contractor’s Guide to the One Big Beautiful Bill, to find out all about the new tax provisions and how they will impact construction companies.

Stay tuned as we provide additional resources for the construction industry to prepare for many of the changes coming with the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill.
