September is officially recognized as National Suicide Prevention Month. AGC invites all construction professionals to prioritize mental health and well-being in our workplaces and beyond. To support you, AGC offers a wide range of resources, from training courses and best practice guides to toolbox talks and community initiatives, designed to help companies and individuals take meaningful action.

Why September Matters in Construction

  • National Suicide Prevention Month – A nationwide observance dedicated to raising awareness, reducing stigma, and honoring lives lost to suicide.
  • National Suicide Prevention Week (September 8 – 14) and Construction Suicide Prevention Week (September 8 – 12) – critical opportunities to promote mental wellness specifically within the construction industry.
  • World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10 shines a global spotlight on the importance of support, connections, and timely intervention.

Key AGC Resources for You and Your Team

  • Mental Health & Suicide Prevention Course – An online, self-paced course designed to equip construction professionals with the information, tools, and resources they need to protect themselves and others. FREE for the month of September.
  • Employer Best Practices Guide – An 8-part guide to help integrate mental health into your safety program.
  • Toolbox Talks – Dozens of short, ready-to-use talks to prompt awareness and dialogue.
